Ambassador Rockwell Schnabel is a founder and Chairman of The Sage Group and Director and founder of Trident Capital, a venture capital firm with $2 billion under management. Mr. Schnabel served as U.S. Ambassador to the European Union under U.S. President George W. Bush; as Deputy Secretary and as Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce under President George H. Bush; and as U.S. Ambassador to Finland, under President Ronald Reagan.
He was a former President of Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards, Inc. (Wells Fargo Bank) and member of the Los Angeles Olympic Committee. Mr. Schnabel serves on the Board of Directors of Lhoist Group (Belgium), the Pacific Council on International Policy (USA) and Wedbush Securities (NYSE). He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Councilors of the USC Annenberg School for Communication. He attended Trinity College in Europe.
